Faculty & Staff Resources

Thank you for partnering with GCC Testing Services to administer exams for your in-person, hybrid, and online classes. We are ready to help administer make-up exams for in-person classes, and online exams for hybrid or online classes. Here are some recommendations on how to request assistance from GCC Testing Services.

Online Course Exams (Main only)

  • Submit exam requests for the whole semester or a single exam using our new and improved Instructor Google Form. This will tell us how to administer the exam for students. Once we have received the testing request, an email confirmation will be sent to your email address confirming our readiness to administer exams for your class;
  • GCC Testing Services team members are able to get a student to a website and enter passwords for exams or quizzes. Students will need to know their sign-in information for the testing site;
  • While we would love to help assist with the collection and/or distribution of homework/handouts, Testing Services does not have the capability to provide these services. Please encourage students to hand in homework or college handouts at another location;
  • Every semester, we get students who want to take a test without any photo ID. Unfortunately, Testing Services cannot accommodate this request. Please let students know the acceptable forms of ID for testing. All students must present a current valid photo ID prior to testing;
  • It is helpful when students know the course and instructor name (PSY101, John Smith). Testing Services does have a way to obtain this information without the student sharing it. When the students know their class information, we are able to shorten the check-in process;
  • GCC Testing Services will start online and make-up exams up to an hour before closing. If you give your students more than an hour for the exam, please encourage them to allow adequate time for testing. Testing Services will end all exams at the closing time regardless of the amount of testing time remaining.

Note: If you have a student with special needs and they are not registered in the Disability Resources and Services office, please contact the DRS office.

Note: Online testing calendar is no longer posted for exam deadlines.

Make-Up Exams (paper/pencil)

It is common for a small group of students or individuals to miss an exam in a face-to-face class for a variety of reasons. If this happens to you, we are more than happy to administer an exam for students who may have missed an exam or need to take it early. GCC Testing Services cannot accommodate an entire in-person class for testing. Please complete the exam request form and drop it off to Testing Services so that we may administer the makeup exam according to your instructions.

In this role, we will administer the exam based upon your rules and requests. The exams will be ready for you to pick up from GCC Testing Services.

  • We do not collect and/or distribute homework/handouts.
  • Remind students they are responsible for providing their own supplies: scantron, calculators, etc.
  • Students will need to present a current valid photo ID.
  • Students will need to provide course and instructor's name (PSY101, John Smith).
  • Please provide enough copies of the exam for each person taking the test. We want to make sure we give the correct test to the correct student.

All Exams must be dropped off and picked up in person by the instructor or by an alternate person. We do not accept emails. We will not release any exam materials to a current GCC student.

All students must allow enough time to complete exam by closing.

Note: If you have a student with special needs and they are not registered in the Disability Resources and Services Office, please contact the DRS office.
