The department provides secure containment of sensitive documents to be shredded. Document destruction services are provided by Cintas Document Management (Cintas). There are several shredding stations designated throughout the campus for sensitive document destruction/shredding of confidential documents. These stations are to be used for permanent document disposal only. See Map of Shredding Stations (.pdf) for campus locations.
The shredding stations are an executive-style container with a two-inch slot for you to deposit your materials. All stations are located indoors for added security and will remain locked at all times. The containers can only be unlocked by Cintas and Facilities Management.
Special arrangements can be made when planning for disposal of large quantities/reports that will not fit through the slot. To make a request, please submit a Work Order Request with the following information:
- Name and phone number for us to contact to arrange for a pick up of your materials.
- Indication of the best time for a pick up/location that the materials are available to be picked up.
The shredding stations are only to be used for secure/confidential paper documents. Document destruction is a contracted service and GCC is billed by the pick-up. In effort to reduce the costs of shredding services, please shred only documents that contain confidential information. All other documents can be recycled in any of the commingled recycling stations on campus. For large volume requests, please submit a Work Order Request for recycle pick-up.
