Employee Wellness

Our Mission

The mission of the GCC Employee Wellness Committee is to create a campus culture that embraces wellness components (social, physical, intellectual, occupational, emotional and spiritual) as a daily facet of life, by providing education and events, including workshops, luncheons, wellness fairs and incentive programs, that optimize employee health, wellbeing and passion for work.

The committee will foster collaborative, multidisciplinary relationships and leadership on campus between the Fitness & Wellness, Food & Nutrition, Nursing, Public Safety Sciences, Psychology, Counseling and other departments and programs that support the Exercise is Medicine - on Campus (EIM-OC) mission and goals. The committee will be committed to gathering measurable wellness data to demonstrate that GCC is maintaining its Exercise is Medicine - on Campus credential. We hope to discover, share and adopt the principles that will help steer the culture toward chronic disease prevention and management campus-wide.

Fitness Centers

Employee discounts are available. Work out in the Fitness Centers and attend Yoga & More sessions. For more information, contact your campus Fitness Center. Consult with your physician before starting any new exercise routines.

Wellness Walking Maps

Walk for your mind, body and spirit! Research shows that 20 minutes of exercise boosts brain power by 20%. Take a break and enjoy our beautiful campuses as you walk.

Employee Assistance Program

GCC Meditation PracticeStudent Meditating

Students, staff, faculty and community members are welcome to join Meditation Practice. Meditation trains your attention and produces benefits that include:
