Professional Staff Association (PSA)

PSA Mission Statement

Maricopa County Community College District Professional Staff Association is committed to providing a united voice for Professional Staff employees by encouraging professionalism, education, advancement, friendship, diversity and volunteerism.

Professional Staff Development (PSD)

Eligibility
The employee must be a regular full-time Professional Staff Governing Board approved employee for a minimum of one full year prior to the starting date of the course or activity.

The GCC PSA encourages employees to apply for Professional Staff Development (PSD), which can be used to assist and prepare them for positions of greater responsibility within the Maricopa Community College District (MCCCD). As both a learning institution and an employee group, we desire to promote the professional and academic goals of our employees in the hope that they will further refine and develop the skills necessary to foster student success.

PSD assists eligible employees with the opportunity to reach their long-term goals by providing an incentive (financial assistance) to maximize his/her scope of knowledge. Ways in which PSD funds can be utilized include tuition assistance for courses that lead to an approved degree/certificate program, course-required books and material, certification exams, or the attendance of an eligible activity (e.g., seminars, workshops, and conferences).

In brief, the total amount approved for professional growth in the 2014-2015 academic year is $4,000.00. We encourage you to apply early and to apply often. Additional details concerning PSD funds can be found at the MCCCD PSA webpage.
