Timi Brown has been the GCC Women's Basketball Coach over the past five seasons. During that time, the Lady Gauchos have placed numerous players to four-year programs as well as had standouts in the classroom.
Timi began her coaching career as a Head Coach at San Pasqual High School in San Diego, California, where she helped lead her team to two southern section conference championships in her first two years. At the college level, she served as an assistant coach at Fullerton College and Rio Hondo College in California, each for two years, and the University of Northern Colorado for one season. After successful seasons, Coach Brown became the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Monterey Peninsula College in 1999. In her first season at Monterey, she helped guide her team to a Coast Conference Championship and a top 20 ranking. Throughout her career, Coach Brown has coached two junior college All-Americans and many of her players went on to earn Division I basketball scholarships.
Coach Brown recently earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, holds her Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelor's Degree with an Exercise Physiology emphasis from the University of Arizona. She played at the University of Arizona from 1986-1991 and left the U of A as the All-time leading scorer in UA women's basketball history. She also holds the single game scoring record of 35 points. Timi is also a certified Health and Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine, and a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
