Mark Reed joined the ACE (formerly "ACE Plus") team as director in 2010, after serving as Coordinator of Academic Advising at GCC since 2007. Prior to GCC, he was an academic advisor in the School of Engineering at ASU, Associate Director and Career Counselor in the career center of California State University in Hayward, and Career Center Director at DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA. His first student services position was at the University of California Berkeley, where he coordinated articulation agreements between Cal and 106 California community colleges. The window of his office at Berkeley overlooked Sprowl Plaza, the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement--very cool, especially if you're a 1960's historian.
Mark has his BA in Psychology from Texas Lutheran University and MS in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University (Go Leathernecks), and is a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, having served in the Human Resources field in Texas, California, Iceland, England, and Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm.
