Fredrick is currently a Program Advisor in the ACE (Achieving a College Education) office.
Fredrick Canales is from El Paso, Texas where he worked at El Paso Community College as a Job Developer in the College Job Placement Center. He came to the Maricopa Community College District in 1992, where he initially worked with local employers to get jobs for workers who had to learn new occupations to reenter the workforce. He then became a Program Advisor at Gateway Community College. After a number of years he was offered a chance to learn new skills at Mesa Community College, where he served as an Academic Advisor and worked with many special populations and transfer students. While he was at Mesa Community College, he earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He has also earned Certificates of Completion in CISCO Networking and Windows NT from Gateway Community College.
Fredrick is a U.S. Army military veteran.
Fredrick has long been an advocate for positive change in the lives of those he serves. He is friendly, easy going, and approachable. He takes great care in helping students reach their academic goals.
