Fredrick is currently a Program Advisor in the GCC ACE Plus office. He handles recruitment, retention, and academic advising for ACE Plus students attending Independence, Peoria, Raymond B. Kellis, and all "non-target" high schools (schools in which we do not conduct recruiting presentations).
Fredrick Canales joined the Maricopa Community College District in 1992. He initially worked with local employers to get jobs for workers who had to learn new occupations to reenter the workforce. He then became a Program Advisor at Gateway Community College. After a number of years he was offered a chance to learn new skills at Mesa Community College, where he served as an Academic Advisor and worked with many special populations and transfer students. While he was at Mesa Community College, he earned his Master Degree in Public Administration.
Fredrick has long been an advocate for positive change in the lives of those he serves. You will find him friendly, easy going, and easy to approach. He will take great care in helping students reach their academic goals.
