GCC Recycle Program

Recycle Program

What is Recyclable?
Aluminum, cardboard, cartons, chipboard, mixed paper, plastic containers, and steel/tin are recyclable in the City of Glendale.

Commingled Recycling
GCC provides single stream/commingled recycling services. Commingled means no sorting required. There are several containers on campus designated for recycling. This section provides information on acceptable items and the various containers.

Miscellaneous Item Recycling
There are collection sites on campus for miscellaneous items that can be recycled, but are not acceptable items in our recycling containers. Employees volunteer to collect these items and transport them to a recycle center.

Pick-up Schedule
If the recycle container in your area is full and you would like to request a recycle pick-up, please complete a Work Order Request.

RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities.  Current event information and/or prior year results are posted on the Recycle Program website.  GCC participates annually in the waste minimization component of the competition to satisfy tangible action #7 of the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).

Recycle Stations
Recycle stations are conveniently located throughout the campus for deposit of recyclable materials.
