Social workers are employed in many different work settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, home-care agencies, substance-abuse agencies, mental health services, disability services, vocational rehabilitation services, public health agencies, family service agencies, residential treatment programs, day care centers, domestic violence programs, homeless shelters, schools, and legal service agencies.
