Accounting (CCL)

Program Information

The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Accounting program is designed for students seeking to gain skills and knowledge in the field of accounting. Possible entry-level positions for this program include accounting clerk, accounts payable/receivable clerk, claims clerk, credit clerk, full-charge bookkeeper, accounting intern, or comparable positions. An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) is also available.

Program Notes

You must earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses required within this program.

This certificates offers three (3) program options that focuses on the principles of accounting. The best accounting (ACC) program for you will depend on your accounting background and training. Strong college-level reading skills are important for the successful completion of ACC coursework.

If you are interested in continuing your education, courses in this CCL program may be applied towards the AAS in Accounting Paraprofessional.

Recommended Course Sequence

ACC105 (Payroll, Sales and Property Taxes) is not offered at GCC. This course may be offered at another MCCCD college; however, GCC will accept ACC107 (Bookkeeping and Practice) in lieu of ACC105 and ACC115 (Computerized Accounting).
